War will always leave its scars. Even those who make it through will never come out unscathed. After a near-death experience in his travels, Aaron has had to step back in a big way for the sake of his own health. No longer with the strength to lead or even participate much in the others' activities, he tries to remain positive and optimistic even in the face of his own limitations, but it can still be an exhausting affair to keep up with the whole tamer situation.
He still keeps in contact with the others and remains firm friends with the group he travelled with, and even though he tries to be sensible he's not above offering moral support or advice when needed; after all, he has experience and a sense of responsibility to pass that on. In the worst case scenario he even still has the spark to step up and fight with his best friend, just like the old days in the other world. Although times have changed, and the scars will always remain, and trying too hard to be the hero he once was might just be enough to push his body over the edge for good.
