The south coast town of Little Hampnett was never the most eye-opening of places. There was nothing really to put it on the map, until a tear in space opened in the middle of the seaside green, and for a few minutes the town was ravaged by an invasion from another world.
It caused an uproar. It shook the world's understanding of life as we know it. And then, true to form, it went back to normal, with the only change being a big fence around the large hole in space-time. You'd scarcely even notice it was there.
Now, four years later, the town carries on as normal. It's a decent place, a few good shops, and home to a local sixth-form college; over the years it has earned the prestigious honour from many students in the area of simply 'eh?'
Although life-changing events don't leave the collective consciousness that easily, and people are wary. And the town itself has been privy to some strange phenomena, particularly in the last year. Erratic weather. Strange goings-on in the night. Mounds of silvery dust appearing and then disappearing.
The digital gate has been around for so long now that it's almost part of normal life. Almost. But with the town's very atmosphere changing around them, the population are getting more nervous than ever.
A small town. A big secret. A restless peace.
How long will it last.
